New light on the shores of the Adriatic
Pescara’s entire public lighting system will be composed of LEDs; Enel’s smart solutions will provide economic savings, pleasant lighting and reduced light pollution

As a skilful architect of suggestive illumination, Gabriele D'Annunzio would recreate the lighting in his sumptuous homes. Today he would be delighted to see his Pescara illuminated by the new Enel LED lighting: light that is attentive to both aesthetic comfort and efficiency.
Enel Sole, our Group company specialising in public and artistic lighting, has in fact signed a contract for the supply of a total of about 22,000 LED lights to replacing the existing ones. Thus Pescara will be a full-LED city, taking the first step to becoming a true smart city.
Efficiency and remote control
The contract was signed on 10 February by Tullio Tonelli, the Sole Administrator of Pescara Energia, and Emanuele Sguazzi, Head of Business-to-Business and Business-to-Government, Global e-Solutions, Country Italy in the presence of Mayor Marco Alessandrini, Deputy Mayor Enzo Del Vecchio and Enel’s Head of Public Administration Sales and Tenders, Fabio Borghese. The contract initially envisaged the replacement of about 11,000 lights, and was then extended to the remaining ones.
We wanted to change the lighting for the better, with the goal of rendering the lighting uniform throughout the city, also in line with what has been defined in the plan being prepared for the City Council
We will start from the north coast with this aesthetic improvement, which is above all a sustainable one that will create cost savings thanks to the vastly decreased costs of LED lighting
Our goal is to satisfy the administration and the citizens with a job well done, improve the quality of lighting and retrofit the systems. We will do it in less time than we envisaged in our bid, precisely to carry out changes in the area as soon as possible
