"We want to be part of the solution of such important issues as the decontamination of cities. We have strongly promoted electric mobility in Chile, based on clean energy and lower prices compared to other fuels. Today we have made our experience and infrastructure available to the authorities of the Biobío Region to put into operation the first electric bus of Concepción so that the inhabitants of the regional capital can live the experience of moving in a means of transport that is 100% clean and free of emissions," explained Karla Zapata, manager of Enel X Chile.
"Concepción is the first city in the region to have an electric bus running through its streets and this is undoubtedly of great benefit to its inhabitants, not only because thanks to this agreement with Enel it allows us to publicly put into use a more modern means of transport in line with our vision of promoting more efficient forms of mobility, but also because it will be available for the use of the penquist community with special routes for publics of social, tourist, educational and environmental interest, through our municipal programs," said the mayor of Concepción, Álvaro Ortiz.
"In this way, we are also reinforcing our intention to create an area of Innovation within our management. In short, Concepción joins a necessary global trend that is to have new forms of transport that we hope will be expanded," added the communal chief.
This important contribution of Enel X to the quality of life of the inhabitants of Concepción is added to the inauguration of the first public charging point for electric cars, which is not located in private facilities and is already available to users of the penquista capital in Plaza España.
Enel X has become the main driver of electric mobility in Chile, based on 100% clean energy at a lower price compared to other fuels, which is also a real solution to help decontaminate the country's cities.
Enel X hopes to consolidate its presence in the Biobío Region. To this end, it has made it's own the "shared value" model, which allows it to deliver an offer of products and services that not only satisfies a commercial need for its clients but also provides a social and environmental benefit for the community.
