AEP Texas requires all facilities to participate in one audit per year in order to test program participation in the summer peak demand period.
Audit performance may set your summer payments should AEP not call another dispatch all summer.
Audit details are outlined below. If you have additional questions, please call us at +1 888 363 7662 or email support.EnelXNorthAmerica@enel.com.
Audit Scheduling
AEP Texas calls the one hour audit at its discretion and maydo so during any of the calendar months during the summer peak demand period.
Audit Details and Preparation
Your facility will be required to curtail for a specific hour called by AEP Texas. The Enel X application allows you to monitor performance during the audit. Log into apps.enelx.com, click the “Demand Response” tab, and choose “Today’s Performance” to view current demand. Performance measurement in the Enel X Performance Dashboard is meant to be directionally correct for your site’s participation in the ERCOT market, but is not settlement grade. Final baselines and curtailment amounts are determined by AEP at the end of each season.
To prepare for audits and dispatches, please review the Dispatch Notifications Guide. Prior to the audit, review your Energy Reduction Plan and verify your facility’s contact info in the Enel X application and contact Enel X if you have questions about your participation.
Payment Impact
Capacity Payments are based on your nomination, and a weighted average of the kilowatts your site delivers during all dispatches and audits that may occur in a season. If your site is unable to participate for the entirety of a dispatch, please perform when you are able to maximize your potential payment. Underperformance in a dispatch will decrease your capacity payment and may affect your site’s future nomination.
Performance Monitoring During the Audit
Baselines are established for each dispatch by averaging the demand recorded for the period of time that coincides with the dispatch during the four preceding business days. Demand average for that period shall set the new baseline.
During the audit, your energy usage on the day of an audit may be above or below your baseline—performance is typically a comparison of your dispatch average usage against your baseline.
