An unprecedented event. The first electric/hybrid edition of the legendary open-road motorsport endurance race, the 1000 Miglia Green, has crossed the finish line. The 40 cars in the running competed over three one-day stages between Brescia and Milan on September 27, 28 and 29, covering a route just shy of 250 km in the process. The first stage was the 4.67-kilometre city route around Brescia, followed by the 180.19-kilometre dash from Brescia to city centre Milan, via Franciacorta, Bergamo, Crespi d’Adda and Monza. The third and final stage saw the competitors driving a distance of 49.14 km from Milan to Arese through parks and on a variety of cycle tracks.
A marriage of tradition and innovation. Needless to say, Enel X was on hand at the 1000 Miglia Green as Official Energy Partner to the event, enabling the competing vehicles to top up at the various charging points: two public charging stations in Brescia were reserved for competitors for various time slots plus two others at Crespi D’Adda, a village in the Brescian municipality of Capriate San Gervasio. Lastly, two vans were also fitted out with “on the road” charging facilities to offer en route assistance to the drivers, who were also provided with an Enel X card to use for charging.
