University of Vermont Utilizes EfficiencySMART(TM) Insight to Bolster Sustainability Strategy

UVM Deploys EnerNOC's Award-Winning Software to Increase Energy Management Visibility and Drive Savings at Campus Facilities


BOSTON, Oct. 24, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EnerNOC, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENOC), a leading provider of energy management applications and services, today announced that The University of Vermont (UVM) will deploy the company's EfficiencySMART Insight application to deliver energy savings at its highest energy-consuming buildings. EfficiencySMART is a key component of UVM's growing lineup of sustainability initiatives; EnerNOC's software-as-a-service (SaaS) application enables UVM to track and manage its energy use, furthering the University's position as a sustainability leader in the higher education space.

EfficiencySMART Insight collects energy data from each building, applies EnerNOC's automated fault detection and diagnostic tools to analyze the data, and, with the help of an EnerNOC energy analyst, delivers a prioritized list of energy efficiency measures. Historically, greater than 80 percent of the energy efficiency measures identified by EfficiencySMART Insight have been low- or no-cost, making the economics of Insight compelling to budget-constrained organizations.

Because UVM is a longtime EnerNOC customer, having deployed EnerNOC's DemandSMARTTM solution to participate iNnew England's demand response program since 2007, much of the infrastructure required to collect energy data was already installed. All but one of the UVM buildings that will be enabled with EfficiencySMART on campus already have existing EnerNOC Site Servers streaming five-minute interval data to EnerNOC's Network Operations Center.
