BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/15/12 -- EnerNOC, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENOC), a leading provider of energy management applications for the smart grid, congratulates three of its customers that have been recognized by the Boston Business Journal (BBJ) for their excellence in innovative clean technology and energy management practices. EMD Millipore, an EnerNOC customer since 2007; National Grid, an EnerNOC customer since 2009; and the City of Boston, an EnerNOC customer since 2009, were honored at the BBJ's Best Green Practices in Cleantech and Energy Awards Breakfast on Wednesday, May 9th at the Seaport Hotel (also an EnerNOC customer since 2009).
"EnerNOC is proud to count some of the most forward-thinking organizations in Massachusetts among our customers. We could not be more excited to see these three companies recognized with such a prestigious award, and we're honored that they chose to partner with EnerNOC as part of their data-driven approach to energy management," said Tim Healy, Chairman and CEO of EnerNOC, who keynoted the awards ceremony.
EnerNOC's DemandSMART and EfficiencySMART technologies have helped the award winners more actively manage their energy use and, in the case of National Grid, energy supply as well. EnerNOC's energy management platform allows National Grid to automate fuel switching between oil and natural gas, depending on peak pricing. National Grid also works with EnerNOC to provide demand response to its customers in multiple service territories.
Both the City of Boston and EMD Millipore participate in demand response with EnerNOC. EMD Millipore has expanded its successful demand response partnership with EnerNOC by utilizing EnerNOC's EfficiencySMART Insight energy efficiency solution to monitor energy usage at its state-of-the-art, 130,000 square-foot center of sophisticated labs and office space.
