As you’ve likely noticed, Rocky Mountain Power has dispatched and then canceled several Irrigation Load Control Program events this summer. Rocky Mountain Power and Enel X have been working together to limit disruptions to your irrigation activities by canceling events prior to the event start if it’s determined that an event is not absolutely necessary.
Why are there so many cancellations this year?
This summer, Rocky Mountain Power and Enel X are taking a closer look at the evolution of energy resource needs between the day-ahead dispatch and the event start. We have decided to cancel any event that is not absolutely necessary to limit disruptions to your irrigation activities. As a result, you may see more canceled dispatches this summer, but it’s being done with you and your operations in mind.
How do cancelled events affect my payments?
Your payment is not impacted by a cancelled event. If there are not any events in a season, you will be paid in full for your availability throughout the program season..
Do cancelled events affect the bonus payment this year?
As a reminder, participating in 100% of events this summer will earn you a 20% bonus payment. Any canceled dispatches do not affect your eligibility for the bonus. If there are no events this season or if you participate in 100% of any events that do occur, you will receive the 20% bonus payment.
