Project description:
The architectural lighting of the Olivetti area at MAAM (Open-air Museum of Modern Architecture) in Ivrea includes:
- the pedestrian route (illuminated with LED post lights)
- the Lombardy poplars in via Jervis
- the stairway to Talponia
- the entirety of Via Tupiun
- 7 information points
- 3 entrance doors
The objective of this project, dedicated to the Olivetti industrial city, which was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in July 2018, was to rationalise energy consumption and create a functional, easy-to-maintain lighting system. Thanks to a careful analysis of the surrounding architecture, the lighting of the two-kilometre pathway, which runs through the middle of the open-air museum in which the classic Olivetti buildings stand, paved the way for the creation of a genuine lighting tour. The seven information points dotted along the route, providing information regarding the Olivetti culture and its creations, have also been illuminated.
Post-project completion:
- Total no. of lights: 206
- Lighting type: LED
- Total installed capacity: 6.5 kW (compared to the previous 17.3kW)
Energy saving: 62%
