A unique, evocative illumination of Mont Blanc with the Italian face bathed in pink light to celebrate the arrival of the 14th stage of the Giro d’Italia: SAINT-VINCENT COURMAYEUR (MONT BLANC SKYWAY).
On the three spring evenings of 24, 25 and 26 May, between 9.30 pm and midnight, it was possible to marvel at an extraordinary light display.
The project included:
- the installation of 37 2.5 kW spotlights mounted on the structure of the Punta Helbronner Skyway and equipped with specially designed optics capable of projecting light a distance of 5.7 km.
- Illumination of the tunnel entrance using 16 coloured architectural spotlights and the Giro d’Italia logo.
The installation called for an extra-special effort from the installation team since it was carried out at an altitude of 3,466 m in extreme weather conditions of -20° C and 70 km/h winds, making it the only operation of its kind to ever be conducted.
