Which are the high-risk seismic zones?

  • Zone 1 – High seismic risk: includes 708 Municipalities, where the most recent powerful earthquakes were recorded (Abruzzo, Friuli, Campania, Calabria, Marche, Lazio)
  • Zone 2 – Average Seismic risk: refers to 2,345 Municipalities in which reasonably strong earthquakes could occur
  • Zone 3 – Low seismic risk: includes Municipalities that could be subject to earthquakes of limited impact
  • Zone 4 – Very low seismic risk: areas with very limited exposure to seismic events.
