Enel X and McDonald’s, together for sustainable mobility
Drivers of electric cars will be able to charge their vehicles while taking a break at a McDonald’s fast food restaurant: with six charging stations already active, the end of 2021 will see charging points in place all over Italy

A burger, a drink, a coffee and ready to go again. This is because your electric car, in the meantime, has been charging up outside.
This practical and speedy combination is possible, thanks to the partnership between Enel X and McDonald’s Italia, and means that customers of the fast-food chain will now be able to find electric car charging stations in the restaurant’s car parks. Enel X’s JuicePole and JuicePump charging stations offer a convenient and functional service capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously. The JuicePump, in particular, takes an average of 30 minutes to “fill up” users’ vehicles with electric energy, more or less the amount of time that McDonald’s customers spend over lunch or dinner.
It’s already possible to find and use the first charging stations at McDonald’s sites in Desio, Eboli, Loreto, San Benedetto del Tronto, Ancona and Osimo (the latter three are already active and visible on the JuicePass app). The roll out will soon include other towns and cities, such as Piombino, Barberino di Mugello, Alessandria, Quartu Sant’Elena and Florence. What’s more, the new agreement between Enel X and McDonald’s Italia has set targets that are even more ambitious: the shared goal is to install 200 charging points for electric vehicles in 100 car parks at McDonald’s restaurants all over the country by the end of 2021.
