Up to 30% reduction in consumption with Energy Storage from Enel X
Enel X is expanding its partnership with the American company Berry Global with a new agreement for the installation and management of a battery storage system that will provide the manufacturing company with significant savings in energy consumption

Sustainability and energy efficiency have become keystones in the global industrial paradigm. Berry Global, world leader in the production and sale of plastic packaging, has turned to the technological experience of Enel X to reduce the energy consumption of its factory in Ontario. The agreement provides for the installation of a lithium ion battery storage system for a total of 5 MW /10 MWh. The Berry Global storage system, one of the largest in Ontario, will allow the American multinational to reduce its energy expenses by 20% to 30%. The new partnership for the storage project follows a previous, fruitful collaboration on a Demand Response programme in 2008.
Enel X will handle the purchase, installation and management of four battery systems with DER optimisation software, which provides real time analysis of data from utility services, including energy suppliers, improves performance and manages distributed energy systems, including accumulation systems.
This agreement highlights the advantages that our storage systems and our software can provide businesses, helping them improve their potential for energy saving and move a step closer to achieving their sustainability targets correlated to energy efficiency”
This collaborative partnership allows Berry Global to continually improve its use of energy. The battery storage system and DER platform will help us optimise energy while we continue in our initiatives to reduce energy intensity and reach our sustainability targets”
