During the holiday season around 1,650,000 tourists are expected in the Colombian capital, which Condé Nast Traveller magazine includes in the list of the 25 most visited Christmas destinations in the world.
Sustainable lights becoming snow
Even in Ibagué, a city 200 km west of Bogotá, creating a sustainable Christmas is a serious matter. Ibagué is the capital of Tolima, one of Colombia’s 32 “departments” or regions, and has a population of 500,000. The city will be lit during the holiday season by Christmas lights that were installed by Enel X Colombia. Efficient and very low environmental impact lighting has been installed in parks, avenues and shopping centres of 18 zones of the city. A team of more than 50 worked on this project, which also includes a fascinating interactive snow ramp more than 25 metres long.
In Colombia, this year, Christmas will have an extra light: that of Enel X's smart and efficient solutions.
