The adventure in Chile continues for Enel X as it exports its new business vision, which was developed in an innovative, sustainable ecosystem where energy is treated as a service, to South America. The Group’s strategy in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago transcends the simple distribution of electricity to include a vast range of digital services and technologically advanced products.
The Enel Group division in Chile has won the tender for the substitution and maintenance of 17,684 public lighting structures in Quilicura, a city of over 220,000 inhabitants. Latest generation LED lights, with a life expectancy of up to 100,000 hours (six times more than that of traditional light sources), will illuminate the streets of the city in the province of Santiago. After a complete restyling for the purposes of energy efficiency, the sustainable street lighting project will create financial savings of 61% for the South American municipality.
Enel X will repurpose the structures and assume responsibility for their maintenance for 10 years from the time of their installation. To date, more than 145,000 LED light points have been installed in Chile by the Group, both within and outside the concession area of Enel Distribución Chile. And now the municipality of Quilicura has joined the select group of public administrations that have placed their trust in the experience of Enel X and benefitted from tailored projects in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago.
The energy efficiency, environmental sustainability and significant cost savings of Enel X products continue to light up the streets of Chile.
