New sustainable Hospital in Puerto Montt
The Doctor Eduardo Schütz Schroeder Hospital located in the city of Puerto Montt is composed of 111 thousand square meters and 525 medical care beds, making it one of the first public buildings in the city to implement solutions that make the use of energy more sustainable, focusing on energy efficiency and technological spare parts.
Enel X integrated Energy Efficiency that will allow the care facility to reduce its carbon dioxide emissions and generate savings that reach around 20% of energy consumption. To achieve this, a complete reconfiguration was incorporated into the domestic hot water and heating system, integrating an existing geothermal heat pump and also an innovative automated control system that digitally regulates the entire thermal power plant, including biomass boiler, dual GN/Diesel boilers and instantaneous heating systems eliminating storage tanks.
To complement and end with a more sustainable result, 500 light points were replaced with LED technology. A landmark for the Institution's Engineering Department in terms of energy savings, cost reduction and operational control, optimizing patient service.
The Puerto Montt hospital currently contributes to improving air quality in the regional capital and to encourage more projects that add to energy efficiency.
We hope to continue contributing to the community through sustainability, energy efficiency and care for the environment.
